WHICH ENDED WITH ABYSS AND STEVIE FEUDING. DURING THIS TIME, ABYSS HAD A GIRLFRIEND, LAUREN. ABYSS TEAMED WITH TAYLOR WILDE TO FACE RAVEN & DAFFNEY IN A MIXED TAG MONSTERS BALL MATCH.
ABYSS FACED OFF WITH DR. STEVIE AT VICTORY ROAD, WITH ABYSS DEBUTING A NEW LOOK. STEVIE WAS THAT OUTRAGED WITH ABYSS DEFEATING HIM, HE PUT A $50,000 BOUNTY ON HIM, WHICH WAS CLAIMED BY KEVIN NASH.
DURING THIS TIME, MICK FOLEY HAD ARRIVED IN TNA, AND TEAMED WITH ABYSS TO GO FOR THE TNA TAG TEAM TITLES, BUT FOLEY WOULD TURN ON ABYSS, AND THE TWO WOULD FACE OFF AT BOUND FOR GLORY 2009 WITH ABYSS WINNING. FOLEY WOULD LATER EXPLAIN THAT HE HAD PLAYED DR. STEVIE AND CHALLENGED HIM TO PROVE HOW TOUGH ABYSS REALLY WAS. FOLEY AND ABYSS WOULD EVENTUALLY TEAM TO DEFEAT RAVEN & DR. STEVIE TO END THE FEUD.
Abyss returned to NWA: TNA in June of 2003, attacking Erik Watts. He then formed a short
lived team with Kid Kash, which then ended with the two feuding. Following that Abyss
aligned himself with Don Callis and the Red Shirt Security (Kevin Northcutt and Legend),
feuding with Raven & The Gathering (Julio Dinero & CM Punk).
Abyss then feuded with AJ Styles, after being forced to team with each other – they won the
NWA World Tag Team titles. AJ would then defeat Abyss to gain both belts.
In February 2008, Abyss was set to face Scott Steiner, but due to the toll of recent
happenings, he left the ring and walked out, taking his mask off. He then appeared in
vignettes in an asylum. Abyss returned at Slammiversary, debuting a new look.
During this time, Abyss teamed with Matt Morgan but due to multiple miscommunications,
they ended up feuding and having hardcore matches, 10,000 Tacks, and Doomsday Chamber
Of Blood matches, Morgan would win the feud.
DR. STEVIE (RICHARDS) TRIED TO TREAT ABYSS’S USE OF WEAPONS THROUGH THERAPY SESSIONS ,
After the feud with AJ, Abyss took on a new manager, Goldy Locks who used Abyss to win other wrestlers contracts. Abyss would end up turning on Goldy Locks, moving on to a 3-Way feud with Raven & Monty Brown, facing off in a Serengeti Survival match and the first ever Monsters Ball Match.
Abyss would return with a new look and for a short period work for Magnus, helping
him retain his TNA World Heavyweight Title,
but it wouldn’t last long and Abyss moved into a feud with Bram, resulting in
Hardcore and Stairway to Janice matches.
Most recently Abyss joined James Storm’s Revolution, winning the TNA Tag Team Titles with
him, but the group recently disbanded.
Abyss has also competed in other promotions: Ring Of Honor: Abyss was a bodyguard for the group Special K for one show, then he aligned himself with Prince Nana’s Embassy. Feuding with Generation Next. The Embassy would also win the 2006 Trios Tournament.
AAA: Abyss made his debut for AAA in 2004, returning in 2006, 2010 and then in 2011 appeared in a storyline where TNA wrestlers invaded AAA. Abyss teamed with Chessman to defeat Extreme Tiger & Jack Evans in a TLC Match to become the AAA World Tag Team Champions, holding the titles for 364 days.
House of Hardcore: Abyss made his debut at HOH 4, teaming with Rhino to lose to Tommy Dreamer & Devon. Abyss would lose to Tommy Dreamer at HOH 5 in a Monsters Ball. Abyss returned at HOH 10, losing to Rhino after being Gored through a table, and the following night at HOH 11 he lost to long-time nemesis Sabu in a Monstors Ball match.
At Final Resolution ’05, Abyss attacked Jeff Hardy. Abyss faced Jeff Hardy in back to back
Pay Per Views (Against All Odds & Destination X) in a Full Metal Mayhem (Abyss won) and a
Falls Count Anywhere Match (Hardy won). Then he went onto main event the first ever
Lockdown Pay-Per-View, losing to AJ Styles in a No.1 Contenders match, Abyss would
separate his shoulder in the match, but was able to return to action at Hard Justice the
next month to win the Gauntlet For The Gold Match, giving him entry to the King Of The
Mountain Match at Slammiversary (won by Raven).
Following the loss to Raven, Abyss got together with someone from Raven’s past, James Mitchell. Raven & Abyss faced off in a Steel Chain Dog Collar Match for the NWA World Heavyweight Title, won by Raven.
In the main event of Sacrifice, Abyss attacked Sabu, leading to months of each other facing each other, they finished their feud with TNA’s first ever Barbed Wire Massacre, voted TNA’s Match Of The Year. At the end of 2005, Abyss & Mitchell joined Planet Jarrett and focused on getting the NWA World Heavyweight Title from Christian Cage, at one point Abyss attack Cage in his own home and attempted to drown him in his pool. Christian would retain over Abyss in a Six Sides Of Steel Match, and A Full Metal Mayhem Match.
Abyss won a Fight For The Right Tournament to face NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Sting. The faced off at Genesis 2006 and Abyss became the champion after Sting was disqualified, due to TNA’s rules, that allowed Abyss to become champion. Abyss defended the belt against Sting and Christian Cage, but would lose it in a rematch against both men.
Sting went on to reveal a secret about Abyss’s past,that he had spent time in prison for shooting his father in the back, sending him into a coma, which he survived. During a match Abyss was competing in, James Mitchell appeared with a woman on the screen, causing him to run out on the match. The woman was Abyss’s mother, who it turned out had actually shot Abyss’s father, with Abyss taking the blame to protect her.
Abyss finally broke away from Mitchell, but as he was about to Chokeslam him onto tacks, Christian Cage, AJ Styles, Tomko & Scott Steiner attacked Abyss with chairs and a barbed wire baseball bat.Abyss, who had been mute since his debut finally spoke and uttered his catchphrase “Doomsday”.
James Mitchell would re-appear, telling Abyss that his son…Judas Mesias would be coming to TNA. In wouldn’t be until Final Resolution 2008 when the two faced off, which was won by Mesias. Mitchell would go on to reveal that he was actually Abyss’s father. Abyss would settle the feud by defeating his Half Brother in a Barbed Wire Massacre match at Against All Odds.
Chris Parks was trained by Roger Ruffin in 1995, he spent the next few years wrestling in Northern Wrestling Federation, NWA Wildside & also Jerry Lawlers Memphis Power Pro Championship Wrestling.
Chris used various names at the beginning of his career, such as "Original Terminator" and
Chris would appear on the first NWA: Total Nonstop Action weekly Pay-Per-View (as Justice)
and got the attention of Dutch Mantel who offered Chris work in IWA Puerto Rico under
himself and Savio Vega.
Chris stayed in Puerto Rico for a full year, creating a new character....Abyss.
On the March 8th episode of Impact Wrestling, Joseph Park revealed himself as Abyss’s
brother, who ran a law firm. He was seen asking questions about his missing brother,
Abyss, blaming Bully Ray for his disappearance. Park would eventually start training to
wrestling, feuding with Aces & Eights.
It seemed if Joseph saw his own blood, he would attack people in the manner of his
brother. Abyss would often appear from time to time. Frankie Kazarian & Christopher Daniels has been doing research and revealed that Park’s law firm had closed 15 years previously.
Joseph’s friend and tag partner Eric Young tried to convince that Joseph WAS Abyss, but Joseph wouldn’t believe him, leading to a Monsters Ball match where Young pulled off Abyss’s mask, proving they were the same people.
In 2010, Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan took over TNA, with Hogan becoming a mentor to
Abyss, with Abyss changing his attire, adding red and yellow to it and Hogan giving Abyss
his Hall Of Fame ring.
During a No.1 Contenders match against Mr. Anderson & Jeff Hardy, Abyss turned on both
of them and had a confrontation with Hogan. Abyss revealed that he was being controlled
by an entity, who was coming to TNA soon. Abyss became the No.1 Contender to Rob Van Dam’s TNA World Heavyweight Title, and started stalking Van Dam with his new weapon of choice, Janice (A bored filled with nails). RVD would retain his title in a Stairway To Janice match, but following the match Abyss attack RVD with Janice, forcing him to vacate the title.
RVD would return at Bound For Glory, defeating Abyss in a Monsters Ball match. Later that evening, it was revealed that the entity was Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, Jeff Jarrett & Jeff Hardy, who all aligned themselves with Abyss and formed Immortal.While in Immortal, Abyss feuded with The Pope, Crimson and captured the TNA Television Title, although he was stripped due to injury. Abyss would come back and feud with Fortune and then set his sights on the X-Division, winning the X-Division Title and becoming a Triple Crown & Grandslam Winner. Abyss would lose the X-Division Title, and would turn on Immortal and feud with them, but after Abyss defeated Bully Ray in a Monsters Ball Match, he was assaulted backstage, not to be seen again from January 2012 till May of that year.
